How has construction around the University Club impacted the operation?

Construction of the Donald Bren building has encroached upon the patio area behind the Club. A gazebo has been installed, and grass planted to expand the U Club's garden to the north, toward the Physical Sciences buildings. This focuses attention away from the contruction, and provides a park-like setting for weddings, barbecues, and other receptions and events.

Are reservations being accepted for wedding, Bar/Bat Mitzvah's and special events?

Yes. Our event planners are happy to assist you in planning your function. Please call (949) 824-7960 to check availability, and for assistance with planning your event.

Is membership required to use the Club?

The Club is open to the public for lunch.

May I provide my own alcohol for my event?

You may only provide your own wine for your event. The Club charges a $10.00 per bottle corkage fee. You may not bring any other alcohol into the building. The University Club has a full bar with an extensive selection of wine and spirits. Your event coordinator will be happy to work with you to make arrangements that best fit your event.

What is the maximum number of guests the facility can accommodate?

Depending on the set-up for your event, the Club can accommodate up to 200 people for an indoor event in the dining room. The dining room can accommodate 150 with a dance floor. Many more may be accommodated in our garden for outdoor events. Our event planners will be happy to discuss your needs, and develop a floor plan that best suits your event.

May I use my own caterer?

The University Club does all of its own catering. Outside caterers are not permitted. The only foods that may be brought in are cakes.

Are Kosher meals available?

The University Club kitchen is not Kosher. Kosher-style, meat or dairy, meals can be prepared upon request. Please contact the event planners to discuss any special dietary needs for your event.

What are the University Club's hours?

Lunch is served Monday-Friday from 11:30am - 1:30pm. The Club is available for meetings, banquets, and events daily for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Does the University Club serve breakfast or dinner?

The Club does not regularly serve either breakfast or dinner. A full line-up of catering menus is available for any meal or event.
